Friends of the Royal Botanic Gardens - Dilly Beans Class
Learn the art of fermentation!
Sharon Flynn is a regular speaker at some of Australia’s leading food events, and has appeared on TV shows and radio chats, podcasts, newspaper and magazine articles. She loves to share her passion through workshops and classes. Now the Friends’ of RBG is lucky enough to be hosting our own demonstration workshop with Sharon.
Feed your curiosity; whether you're a rookie or an already obsessed fermenter, or making for healthy guts. Learn, share, connect and keep the traditions alive that fight the homogenisation of our industrialised food system.
Get some wild into your life, and then of course - inside your body (and your people).
Join us for our hands-on workshop and Q&A as Sharon demonstrates the process of making traditional fermented produce. Taste, talk, sniff and smell your way to homemade fermented goodness. Discover the history, varieties, and process of fermenting and how it differs from pickling, followed by a tasting of different samples. Using herbs and fresh vegetables, we will transform simple ingredients into delicious homemade staples. Bring home a sample from the day to enjoy at home.
A hands-on experience and a unique opportunity to learn a centuries-old tradition in a relaxed setting with Sharon’s inspiring expertise.
Spots are limited, so book early.
